For that last 6 months I have been using www.45n5.com as my source for updated blogs rather than RSS feeds. This is primarily due to the fact that 90 percent of the blogs that I read on a regular basis are on Mark Wielgus’
listing of blogs. Updated blogs are highlighted in the MoneyLinks section and his top 100 blogs listings has grown to 349. At the top are bloggers like Darren Rowse of ProBlogger, John Chow and Jeremy Schoemaker’s ShoeMoney blog. Then at near the bottom you have me: x7SEO.com at number 333. I am only 16 from the bottom and a long long way from the top.
Well, I have set a goal for myself and that is to try and improve this blog to the point where I find myself in the top 25 of this list by this time next year. So with that said, let’s see where we are at on September 10, 2009.
Good job on 45n5.com Mark - This is my number one stop on the web.

It looks like Shoemoney.com has a new look and I am diggin’ it. Nice and crisp, neat and orderly. That appeals to my military background. Even though it has a similar look, it is much cleaner and doesn’t look at all cluttered. Good job to the guys at Unique Blog Designs.

I got a little curious today about the top bloggers first entries - Yaro Starak, John Chow, Jeremy Schoemaker and Darren Rowse. It is kind of interesting to see the diversity of each of their first blog postings. I thought is was a great coincidence that Jeremy Schoemaker referenced his first posting today…….
First up was Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net in Sept 2004 - The blog title was “Get to the Point” and talked about what length a blog posting should be. This blog started out from day one giving information on how to blog.
Number two was Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs-Journey in Nov 2004. - The blog evidently had a different name and focus at that time. The blog title was “Welcome to the BetterEdit Blog” and was a record of the growth and changes of BetterEdit.com which sometime along the way was purchased.
In August of 2005 Jeremy Schoemaker arrived on the scene with Shoemoney.com and a simple blog post titled: “Hello World“.
In December 2005 John Chow started rambling at JohnChow.com with his first blog post called “Welcome To The New JohnChow.com”
Blogs provide an interesting snapshot in time of what was on the mind of the writer and what topics they started out with. What was your first blog post about? Does anyone know who claims to have the first blog? That is something I would like to see. ( maybe it was Al Gore ?????? - after all he did invent the Internet )
( Please note: I used each blog’s archives to try and determine the first blog posting of each. If they are not correct please forgive me….)
